Yesterday's activity was partly a game for the European Championship Qualifications for Ladies' basketball. Sweden vs Norway and double interest for me. In Norway, some of my friend's old team mates when she played in the national team (yes, I'm friends with a superstar), and in Sweden, many of the players I used to play against. Naturally Sweden won, 76-31, but it was a good game for the most part. Frida Eldebrink is definitely the best player Sweden has, and has had for quite a while. She's 23, plays in Czech Republic and has, together with her twin Elin, been the key of our national team for YEARS. She can shoot, she can dribble, she can defend, she can do fricking everything! Pure awesomeness in flesh.
However, also got me thinking. My first ACL happened when I was 14, as you may know. What you might not know is that it happened on a Friday, but not any Friday. It was:
- the Friday before the second to last round of regional try-outs for the national team.
- the Friday 2 weeks before the Nordic Championship.
- the Friday 4 weeks before regional play-offs where I was supposed to play for 2 teams.
- the Friday at the end of the season before the year where we went up to the third highest division in the country.
- the Friday mid-way through my 3-year basketball academy high school.
Bitter doesn't suit me well, but I guess we all commit fashion crime once in a while...
