Day 24

Sometimes I look at my healthy knee and think "You don't look the same."

I'm off to a summer house to celebrate Midsummer - the biggest day of the year in Sweden. We eat pickled herring, boiled potatoes, chives and sour cream and loads of strawberries. Then we dance around a giant penis and sing about how frogs don't have ears or tails. Let's call it post-traumatic stress from the dark and dismal winter.

Have a good weekend!

  2. Sure, it's a Midsummer pole but it's a symbol for fertility - i.e. phallic symbol! Originally, it's a farmers' celebration for the fertility gods Frej and Freja. And I mean come on LOOK AT IT!

  3. Yes I see the point! Shockingly I had never realised the phallic symbology of a may/midsummer pole. Astonishing innocence!

Sorry to hear the trip had no benefits for the leg, hope it was fun nonetheless!
