You're a lot like me with this whole knee thing. Despite all sorts of signs and encouragements to the contrary, your overriding belief is that things are on a slippery downward slope and disaster is only round the corner. I am exactly the same with photography. Despite lots of praise from my peers (see link below) I'm always unsure about the future. I have a wedding on Saturday, and as usual I am beginning to get nice and nervous.

Now don't get me wrong - I know why you're so negative - experience being worth more than words and all that. But you have to look at the tangibles. Your knee is improving. This kick-ass physio - (who you also swoon for (double win) - tells you it's right where it should be and despite all sorts of agony, mental strife and real life issues you are still here over 6 months later cracking on with the rehab. That's GOOD stuff dude.
You understand right that how you FEEL about there rehab doesn't matter a bit right? I mean, it may have some small impact from a placebo point of view, but the rehab largely relies on whether or not it's done. You are working out, training it and running lots. You may feel shite about it, not want to do it and really dislike it, but you are still DOING. Your knee doesn't know any difference between happy training-loving Jo and "I FUCKING HATE THIS FUCKING TRAINING BLEURGH" Jo. As long as you're doing it, you're winning!
SO. A pat on the back for the actual work is in order and try and ignore the feelings of minimal motivation and negativity!
You. Are. Doing. Well.
Try saying that in front of the mirror while smiling at yourself. Don't be scared.
On another note, who knows what would happen if CJ found this page. He might get on the first flight to Tokyo to let you know the feelings mutual! Word to the wise, most men fantasise about girls writing blogs about them.
